Here is what I found - no mention of a kanji tho... The winner must express thanks to the 3 gods of creation: Amenominakanushi no kami, Takamimusubi no kami, and Kamimusubi no kami, by swiftly swinging his hand in the 4 cardinal points while crouching on his heels before the referee's paddle. This is called tegatana o kiru (cutting with the hand like a sword), and it must be performed by the winner of each match, whether or not some white envelopes have been presented from the referee's paddle.

Just a side note, Kotooshu beat Hakuho on day 14, not Asashoryu. Harumafuji beat Asashoryu. Unless of course, I just heard you wrong. What a very impressive win for Harumafuji. Thought he was done because he didn't have a great grip on the very tall Kotooshu. Now, it's time to see the Hakuho match. -Billy-

Haruma fuji reminds me of "old" rikishi. Wakano Hana (#1) , there are some videos of his "yorimodoshi." You just can't figure out how Waka did it. Think he is a great replacement for Asashoryu when he retires. -- old sumo fan now in KY, US

Just after the last slap Asashoryu mouths somthing/says something to himself. And i'm guessing it was 'dav dav dav dav', which in Mongolian means 'win win win win'.
